About
Nocturne collection
Nocturne is the most recent collection signed by
Château Purcari, created especially for Premium
HoReCa clients.
Federico Giotto – the Italian worldwide known
and appreciated enologist – has managed to
translate the expression of the distinctive terroir
and juicy grapes into this special range of wines.
Purcari Nocturne is a celebration of taste,
passion, and character.
This is a collection that will be available
exclusively in selected HoReCa points
representing a new level of genuine pure
winemaking.
The History of
Nocturne
The NOCTURNE range integrates wines
from noble grape varieties, harvested
manually in the cool of the night, to
preserve the richness of aromas and
intensity of taste intact.
Chilly grapes are firmer grapes, so there’s
less hassle from the winemaker about
bruising the fruit while picking.
At night, the sugar levels in the grapes
are stable, and the acid levels are better.
Picking grapes when they’re cool reduces
the energy needed to cool them before
they can be pressed or fermented.
This also helps minimize the oxidative
impact of the enzymes in the grapes.
The wines in Purcari Nocturne range
benefit from a natural chilling effect
which protects the freshness of the grapes
and the purity of the fruit flavor.

Château Purcari
Purcari wines have worldwide famous for a lot of
reasons, including the rich loam and clay soil
forming the special terroir. The clay-based
ground retains the moist, while the loam on top
provides good harvesting and healthy
environment for vegetation.
The geographical position also plays an
important role in the Premium quality of the
wines. Purcari vineyards are located at the top
Of Purcari hill, which ensures cooler nights that
help preserve the acidity in the grapes.
Chateau Purcari vineyards positioned on the west
coast of the Dniester River, Moldova, are located
at the same latitude as the famous Bourgogne
vineyards. The winds from the Black soften the
frosts Of winter, and in summer – they calm the
heat.
